And here it is again. The longing for your words, the voice of the ever wandering soul dragging the tears out from my gut. In longing the shattered words ring inside my mind, hoping to find a rest. They don’t. Homeless orphans in the dark, blindly asking for mercy. Wuthering and thundering and hurting me once more. In a loverless love with no word left to sing.
In the night I walk alone, the burden heavier. It is your voice I want to hear so I can cry myself to light.
Tell me there’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in. Tell me the dove is bought and sold, and bought again, that it is never free. Tell me the anthem, the song I need to hear, so I don’t fall in the abyss of darkness awaiting.
I should’ve taken it. It was right there on the desk. Now I am back in my all too silent room, and I long for your words once more.
